An advanced photo editing application, ACDSee Pro 10 from ACD Systems benefits both the editing and image adjustment end of post-production, as well as file organization and management. Divided into several Modes, this software has distinct environments for managing files, previewing images, and editing photos. Within Manage Mode, you are able to organize, sort, and source files from a variety of locations, including cloud storage hosts and Microsoft OneDrive. Photos/View Mode is used to preview imagery as well as apply some image adjustments in a non-destructive manner. Finally, the Develop/Edit Mode can function as a non-destructive environment for adjusting the look of raw files using a variety of tools for creative and corrective editing. Additionally, a Dashboard Mode is also available for gathering data as to when and where images were taken, as well as compilations of metadata organized in graphs, file locations, and other pertinent practical details.

ACDSee Pro 10
  • Develop Mode - This mode is dedicated to making non-destructive edits, and is intended for use when converting raw image files. Within this space, you create rules and instructions for specific adjustments, rather than alter the original file's content.
  • Pixel Targeting - By selecting a specific color or tone within an image, you can make quick selective edits to certain colors and tones without affecting the rest of the image.
  • Automated Adjustments - ACDSee Actions can be used to record and batch-apply any of the 200+ Edit Mode adjustments in an automated manner.
  • Chronicle Process - You can record snapshots throughout the editing process that allow you to return to a specific point within the editing workflow.
  • Photoshop Plug-in Support - Expand the creative functions of the Edit Mode with the ability to work with the huge range of Photoshop plug-ins.
  • No Importing - Allowing you access to your files directly from any drive, ACDSee does not require you to import your files into the application for use.
  • Searching - Images can be sourced using metadata, file properties, date, event, keyword, rating, color label, and GPS location. Detailed searches can be created and saved; searches can consist of single words or phrases; and search parameters can be narrowed down to just single folders.
  • Organizational Tools - Categories, ratings, tags, color labels, and hierarchical keywords can be applied to imagery to help organize, sort, and locate specific files.
  • Lens Correction - Both barrel and pincushion distortion can be corrected as well as chromatic aberrations and other various distortions. The corrections can be mapped and saved as a profile for later use.
  • Light EQ - Helping to produce HDR-like effects, Light EQ can intelligently lighten shadows and darken highlights to produce an expanded tonal range with a single click.
  • Adjustment Brush - A unique edge-aware brush allows you to selectively apply brightness, saturation, contrast, sharpness, and clarity adjustments when working in Develop mode, as well as many other functions in Edit mode.
  • Special Effects - Color overlays, photo effects, and creative tones can be applied to imagery in a non-destructive manner, and the effects can be fine-tuned using blending and opacity controls.
  • Clarity - This tool helps to rescue detail, contrast, and color in images made in dusty, hazy, or smoky environments.
  • Skin Tune - Automatically smooth out blemishes and flaws while maintaining radiant skin tones.
  • Noise Reduction - This adjustable noise reduction function lets you preserve detail while removing unwanted noise.
  • User Interface - A customizable user interface lets you remove, move, stack, and dock several of the tool bars and panes to suit your own workflow.
  • Filtering Flexibility - Photos mode has been updated with more ways to filter image collections, regardless of where the files are located, and customizable pop-ups can be set for file highlighting to help locate specific images.
  • Right-Click - Right-clicking allows you to quickly switch between foreground and background colors, or the right-click function can also be used as an eraser with the Edit brush.
  • Blend Modes - Different blend modes can be used in conjunction with opacity sliders to refine the look of effects and image adjustments.
Manage Mode
  • Collections - Helping to keep your image library organized, Collections are used to expedite sourcing imagery. Hierarchical structures can be used in Collection Sets and Smart Collections can be built to contain specific search terms to quickly return to the results at any time.
  • Convert from Lightroom - An existing Lightroom database can be imported into ACDSee while retaining the ability to view and edit your Lightroom collections.
  • Batch Processing - A variety of workflow tasks can be performed to batches of images at once, including making edits, converting formats or color spaces, resizing, renaming, and more. These batch processes can also be saved as presets for continued use.
  • Metadata - Files can be organized according to recorded metadata, IPTC metadata can be edited, and the Metadata tab can be customized to display only the information you need.
  • Folder Structure - The folder tree is displayed in the same style as your operating system for seamless use with no confusion.
  • Mapping - GPS information can be used to find and organize your images, and you can instantly view the location where the image was made, reverse geocode photos, and manually fill-in location information.
Photos/View Mode
  • Auto Lens View - This dedicated mode allows you to quickly preview imagery with a variety of filter effects applied.
  • Windows Touch Gestures - Flick through images during navigation using intuitive touch controls when working on a Windows Touch Gesture-enabled device.
  • Non-Destructive Auto EQ - A boost in exposure quality can quickly be applied to files in a non-destructive manner.
  • View it All - Images can be viewed at pixel level using the dedicated Magnifying Glass tool along with the Navigator. A histogram and metadata editor can also remain open while editing and viewing files.
  • Photos Mode - Your entire photo library or Microsoft OneDrive collection can be sorted and viewed by year, month, or day and pop-up date information and metadata help with fast and easy file location.
  • Second Monitor Support - A second monitor can be used to expand your effective working area for more efficient image review or more room to place tool bars or other assets.
  • 4K Support - Support for high dpi, 4K-resolution monitors allow you to view your work with great detail.
Develop/Edit Mode
  • History Window - Your adjustment history can be viewed and you can quickly return to a specific adjustment to refine it regardless of how many changes have been made since. This window also allows you to undo unwanted adjustments.
  • Improved Selections - An efficient GUI affords quick access to Selections and Drawing tools for making selections within an image for greater precision.
  • Color EQ - Individual color channels and overall color can be adjusted using hue, saturation, and luminosity sliders, and the edits can be made in a non-destructive manner.
  • Gradients - Radial and linear gradients can be applied to images for applying gradual effects to an image, and opacity and blending settings can be adjusted to produce a natural appearance. Gradients can be applied in a non-destructive manner.
  • Fill - Within the Edit mode, a Fill tool can be used to select a specific color and then adjust it to better mesh with background colors.
  • Geometry/Repair Tools - A variety of tools are available to affect the look of your image, ranging from simple red eye removal to more advanced perspective adjustments, as well as distortion and vignetting correction.
  • Brushing - The Edit Brush lets you apply any editing effect to a specific portion of the image for selective adjustments. Brush size, pressure, and feathering can be used for more precise control.
  • Split Toning - Allowing you to adjust the tonal balance between highlights and shadows, toning controls let you selectively tint portions of the image, make hue-based brightness adjustments to monochrome images, and add colored hues to black and white images.
  • Heal and Clone - This pair of tools let you easily and cleanly erase flaws, blemishes, and other unwanted objects from a frame.

  • SeeDrive - Accessible from the Manage mode, this function lets you access and manage images stored online to control privacy settings or share files with friends.
  • Dashboard Mode - Presented in easy-to-understand graphs, this mode lets you quickly see your photo count organized in months or years, as well as information ranging from which cameras you use most to which ISO setting is most frequently used. This mode can also survey database information to highlight where a file is saved, its size, and any backup information available.
  • Smart Indexer - Helping to expedite viewing and loading of files, the Smart Indexer automatically catalogs folders while the computer is idle for faster load times. This function also refreshes when changes to a folder have been made.
  • Archiving - Collections of images can be saved as .zip files for easier storage within local folders, on DVD or Blu-ray disc, to external hard drives, or via a cloud storage host.
